Papertake Weekly challenge. This week it is 'spots & stripes', used the fab download paper from Kaboodle Doodles 'Morris ance' kit which is mainly greenish papers so it is also going for ABC challenge 'G for Green'. The backing brown card is from my grocers from the banana box! Well would you belive it she will be saving me some more, so perfect for the distressed look cards and very similar to Kraft, weighty too... so I put some texture on it through my Cuttlebug, but before that I used Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress ink pad and stamped a Grunge corner from Stempelglede Stamps, heart and flower stamps from Crafters Companion, owl stamp freebie from Craft Stamper mag, it really reminds me of Autumn, hand drawn branch, sentiment made up of mini alpha stamps and American Craft stamps, Mrs Owl has been paper pieced with stripes and looks like she's got a pinny on ready for baking, bit of white Sakura gel pen for accenting, and WOW flowersoft in Heather for extra texture for Funky Fairys challenge 40 'Touchy Feely', sketch used is from Sketch Saturday #74, this is going for Allsorts #24 'Furry Friends' and a new challenge Crafty Calendar ( a monthly challenge) their very first one so just had to have a go and join in! Have a fab evening until next time.
Thanks for visiting, browse around and I hope you find some inspiration!

Dare U 2 Digi stamp. This week challenge 24 is to use a shaped card and ofcourse a digi image. So I teamed it up with a freebie image from Bee Crafty and also entering their challenge 16, 'Distressing'. I've used clear inkpad round edges and chalked with brown and also gone over the embossing dots, this also goes for the A Spoonfull of Sugar, 'Kitchen/Cooking', this is an item you'd bake in a kitchen, yes, and also for Simon Says Stamps challenge 'All that Sparkles'. I hope there's enough sequins and Glamour Dust on the icing to qualify??? Sentiment is from a See D's stamp, everything is from my stash. I was meant to add some sparkle to the candle to cover up my bad colouring :( so I'll do that before I give it. Thanks for stopping by today and hope everyone is enjoying their crafting.

Scrapmag #16 this time is 'Fall Colours'. I don't have any of their autumnal images so I hope it's alright to use the free digi image again 'Krilla Bunny'. Sketch is from a new challenge I found, Sketch and Stash #22 and new item is the brown card I've used as the base, had it for years from a multi-pack of allsorts of card and it seems similar to what crafters are using at the mo...stamped with a clear mini stamp from Studio G in clear inkpad then chalked over with brown, sentiment is from Penny Black 'Hugs' clearstamps and this is my entry for their challenge 'Halloween' as is Cute Daisy May, reddish paper is a freebie from Funky Fairys and orange is card from stash, they've all been distressed with a stitch unpicker (fab idea from Lols) why didn't i think of it, got two lying around, buttons and brads from stash and is entry for another new challenge Crafty Catz Weekly #5 and lastly entry for Digital Tuesday #30, a colour challnge : Kraft,Orange and one other colour. I was going to send this one off in the post with some others but as it is with the postal strikes at the moment I'm not going to risk it, if i know better this is the time when things go missing and some never reach their destination!!! I hope it all gets resolved quickly... so we can look forward to opening our crafty parcels when they arrive! Have a lovely evening all until the next post.

A Spoonfull of Sugar #74 is a sketch. I've also teamed it up with Cute Card Thursday #83 'Candy Corns' i think anything candy related will do as you can see I've gone with the old cupcakes perfect for the young and old (those of us who can't part with sugar). This stamp set is from Simon Says Stamps and I've used it so much on my cards. Handcut template shape, stripey paper is from Kaboodle Doodles 'All Star' kit, sentiment on the computer 'Rickles' font. This card calls for a new challenge too Cooking it up with Katie. They're on a recipe which is to use something you might cook, buttons and add a little to the inside... well I was a little stuck as I don't do insides...but i did try.

Bee Crafty #15 is a sketch. So I've used a backing paper from DCWV, some fab ribbon my daughter bought from town yesterday and used digi image from Nutcrafters 'halloween pecan witch' which is a freebie on their blog and this is also my entry for them as this time you can choose a sketch to work with. There are two other challenges Kaboodle Doodles and Polka Doodle both are Halloween theme. The cute spooky image is outlined in fine waterproof black pen before w/colouring with normal pencils and the rest i think is self-explanatory, but i hope you like it and any comments are appreciated. This maybe my last Halloween card as it's not celebrated much where I live, most of the cards have gone to Postpals, I just hope they're not too spooked and see the fun in it :)))) Bye for now all!

Simon Says challenge' Get Well Soon'. I'm fast to get this one done as I could do with it myself. Autumn and winter months are not my favourite seasons of the year... still here I've teamed up with Sketch Saturday #73 and truly a fab sketch...and my second entry for Pink Gem as I've used one more of Janet's stamps 'Cat with Cuppa' from her wonderful range of stamps, nobody would say no to one of these in the cold. Janet is giving away some fab stamps to one winner if you show what is created with any of their images. So I went with just ordinary watercolouring pencils this time, 3D'd paws and flower pot, the flowery paper is a scrap from a download, sequins and ribbon from stash, mug is coloured with copic pen, so bright pink it is but i like it. Sentiment is from the Popcorn Bear range from Crafters Companion. Until next time, bye!

Polka Doodle has a fab sketch. I've teamed up with two other challenges, Digital Tuesday ' Wings' and Cute Daisy May ' I love You' which I could have used their own free images but I'd already started my card so next time...So the minty card is from stash, the rest is a download 'Fairy Wishes' from here...still have to stamp something as I'm primarily a stamper at heart and made a swirly border using MOD stamps from Simon Says and stamped sentiment 'with love' but separated both words and used mini alpha ones to make the 'tweet', the brown circle is an old used manilla envelope, finished with Deco Art Glamour Dust on wings. Hope you like.

Funky Fairys challenge 38. This week I've tried to find something else to combine but no, so... it looks like this challenge is on its own and special! Theme is 'No Image Allowed' so i went with my See D's stamps which I've forgotten about and I did spend alot on them as they came from QVC in a huge CD rack some years ago. Shape is handcut after tracing round a template, papers from Funky Fairy free downloads, bit of faux zig-zag stitch and plenty of sparkly gems and I nearly forgot this card is a 13cm square card cut in half but I've made cards similar with slivers left over from off-cuts before and they work too! Enjoy a fab day it looks like my pics will be indoors and on the landing as it's turned very very cold here in the UK.

Papertake Weekly is 'The Dark Side'. Well, I don't really want to scare the child to whom this card is going to, so I toned it down to a bit of a cutie card. Image is a freebie digi from Digital Delights 'cat with pumpkin', papers are Kaboodle Doodles downloads 'Halloween' kit, sentiment along bottom done on the computer, flowers from poundshop, buttons from CB dies 'baby face' and ribbons from stash. I've followed the sketch from Simon Says challenge, entry for Digital Tuesday challenge and Cute Card Thursday #82 'Spook Fest'. Hope all is well out there, October is halfway, soon it'll be November...it's flying by...make the most of it while you can. Enjoy crafting!

Hi all, a little cute fairy to show today. This one is for A Spoonfull of Sugar challenge 73, a super sketch, Cute Daisy May challenge 'Fairy- nuff' to use a fairy image somewhere, ABC challenge 'F for flying' and this cutie really looks like she is going from one toadstool to another... and last but not least my entry for Pink Gem. Janet is giving away to a random person 6 of her stamps just for using one of her fab stamps and linking back to the blog! I have purchased a collection of these stamps, ofcourse this image is 'Fairy Mimi', teamed up with fab flowery paper download from here along with the sentiment, blended using Koh-i-Noor pencils, green card from stash, micro fine pink glitter, little tiara is 3d'd, ribbon, bows, sequins from my collection which is ever increasing as I do love to have a little wander in haberdashery shops.

Pollycraft # 26 is a colour challenge. It is also the blogs birthday this week and they've had a small hop which was defintely worth it! So the colours are ' Tangerine, Turquoise and Chocolate', now I was going to do another Halloween card but instead decided on this freebie image 'Drake Penguin' from Pollycrafts teamed up with Sketch Saturday #72 and Penny Black challenge 70 'Button and Bows'. Well as you can see they're not in the plural format as I only have a single button and bow but have used text stamps from 'Hugs' PB clear stamps. So... the snowflake backing paper is a freebie download from Crafts Beautiful online party they had last year, tangerine is a new freebie d/load from The Creative Cottage 'Spooktacular' kit, brown is an off cut from a previous card. I'm afraid Drake has made a bit of a mess with his feet around the image where it's supposed to be distressed :( I'll blame it on him ;) Thanks for looking, and hope all is well, any comments are so appreciated.

This is my entry for Cute Daisy May challenge. 'Pink Christmas' it is and also for Digital Tuesday challenge 'Music to my ears', what a fab theme, I've used the brilliant sketch over at Polkadoodle challenge 21. Last week I won a blinkie for a runner up from there :) So the lovely image is freebie digi image from Pollycrafts which unfortunately I had to cut round as it comes in a frame and wouldn't fit properly on my card, image is coloured with Koh-i-Noor blending pencils, teamed up with all the 'pinkness' as I like to call it from The Creative Cottage 'Home sweet Home ' freebie downloads, the flower from there too, sentiment along bottom is computer generated and I've added my own arty musical notes, text and snowflakes from Sweet n Sassy Stamps ' Snowflakes Set'. Love this image as it seemed to tie in with these challenges at the right moment. I'm having a very restful Sunday and hope you are too!

A card for Papertake Weekly. Well, there seems to be lots of challenges asking for Halloween creations...so...this is my entry for A Spoonfull of Sugar, Simon Says Stamp and Nutcrafters challenge which is a brand new one and better still they've provided a free digi image of Halloween Pecan which I outlined with waterproof black liner pen and I've also stuck to the 'Yellow, Orange, Black and White' colours for Dare U 2 Digi Stamp. So many challenges, paper is from Kaboodle Doodles Halloween kit, text is a Studio G stamp, just put some of own cobwebs in the corners. Hope it's not too scarey, another one for Postpals!
ETA Entry for Allsorts challenge 'Halloween'.
Thursday, 8 October 2009
Hi again, my second post for today and this card is for a new challenge I found called Allsorts #21 and the theme is 'Kraft' and I think it means use a certain type of card which I've seen being used on cards lately. Well, you know what I've done, used an old large Manilla envelope and recycled! I have however used the inside as it gave a much better look...download paper from Pink Petticoat 'Sweet Sundaes' kit and you get a second entry if you use any PP paper. So the sketch followed is Kaboodle Doodles #15 and i like how it works with this new challenge so I'm happy...image is coloured with Koh-i-Noor pencils and blended with odourless mineral spirit, pink card and lace from stash and pink Zooms from Toodles and Binks. White Sakura pen for doodling and glam dust added for sweetness!
Well today my card is for Penny Black Saturday challenge #69 which is 'Autumn Breezes'. What a fab title...and it's teamed with Sketch Saturday #71, also added a 'made with love' charm for Cute Card Thursday 'So Charming'. Soooo all the papers are free downloads from Shabby Princess 'Harvest' kit, mostly scraps from other cards, tree stamp with sentiment is from Toodles and Binks and ofcourse the kitty is PB which was masked to put tree in the background. Used distress ink for both and 'swished it 'around with my waterbrush! Leaves are mini stamps from Studio G, bit of glam dust added to brighten it up a bit. I do like masking but do need to have extra time, not to be rushed, anyway... hope you like it, probably will be back later.

Hi all! Today my entry is for CCT #80 'pinch & punch' meaning the first of an occassion so i went with 1st Christmas with some mini alpha stamps, used some really cute Bentley Bear stamp freebies from the October issue of Cardmakning & Papercraft mag, w/coloured with Koi's and Deco-art Glamour Dust added, a mini pom-pom which had to be cut in half, layered onto black card, then onto a hand cut green template, fits in nicely with Papertake Weekly 'Black, white and 1 other', used sketch from Polkadoodle, papers from Kaboodle Doodles downloads, black stitch detail is a clear stamp from Simon Says Stamp MOD Background Designs, wonderful quality and I use them a lot. This is also my entry for Funky Fairys # 36 'Transport' and Simon Says' to use Red & Green somewhere on your creation'. Hope you like this one as much as I do!!!

Happy World Cardmaking Day! Wow, all over blogland there's something for someone to craft about. Well this card is travelling to Paige on Monday morning and you can read about it here. There is a fab challenge over at SSS for Paige, what a good cause, lovely jubbly! This will be my entry for Stampavie #13 which is Autumn and I've used my new 'Roam' papers from K&Company, brilliant papers with a warm feel to them. The backing papers are from shabby princess 'vintage' download which goes really well with this and used my Koh-i-Noor pencils on this cute 'Sweet Lili' image from Sarah Kay and blended with odourless mineral spirit, made some flowers from a tutorial here but only followed it part of the way. I'd like to enter for Cute Daisy May challenge (my first time to this challenge) which is 'easy as 1,2,3: 1 ribbon,2 button and 3 flowers' so I hope this will qualify! I love this stamp used for this card so much, it reminds me of comfort and safekeeping for the times where you're perhaps in pain and sadness and just a snuggle up to a favourite toy is just so comforting ... we've all been there...but i'd like to end on a happier note and wish all a very happy day whatever you're all doing!!!

Sentiment is from PB 'Hugs' clear stamps set. I've tried to distress the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink pad, I'm not really sure if it's worked... brad, lace gems from stash.
