Pollycraft # 32. This time the challenge requires ' red & white, fire and ice'. I've been wanting to use this fab freebie digi image from Paula, at last I got a chance, entry for Saturday Spotlight #16 'Bigger is Better', to use an oversized part on the card and for The Secret Crafter #68 'Hearts'. My red card is very leather look textured so I wanted to keep it like that, large heart is hand cut from template that was a tag on my kids clothes, I save sooo much, but it came in handy... sentiment is a Forever friends freebie with a mag, small hearts stamped using mini stamps. Red gem in flower to finish!
ABC Christmas challenge. This fortnight they're on C for Candy and extra is 'Pink', teamed up with Design 2 Delight Digital Stamps challenge. Faith has given away another fab digi image for those that played last week, this snow bear is a cutey and is resting after a skating attempt...candy looking paper is from Crafts Beautiful online dowload freebies by Kirsty Wiseman and I just stamped some candy canes to give extra sweetness.

Polka Doodle week 4. This is my final week of guest designing for Nikky at Polka Doodle and it's a 'Valentine card using non-traditional colours'. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with the Back To Nature cd, I'm sure there's lots more I could do with the sections I've not got round to using. So onto my card, it's a heart shape and it stands too! Made from the Heritage paper, silver mirri board for small heart using cuttlebug die and alphies from the cd. I cut out 2 big hearts, started working with the front one, covered with the lovely paper first then machine stitched the lace on.

Lace was pleated first...

Sewed on the ribbon and button, all the other bits, then glued the back of the heart as you can see, snipped off the bottom point to make it stand, also as the lace covered it you couldn't see where the point would be missing, so it went really well. I think my sewing machine may be used a little more this year...

The back of the card where I've scored and folded a quarter at the top to glue it together, finished off with a personalised stamp from Lisbet at Scrapmagasinet. I'd like to say a big 'Thankyou' to Nikky for allowing me to be a guest designer, never done this before and have loved it!!! The ladies on the team produce some gorgeous creations, why not have a go...and enter the weekly challenges, So it goes without saying, the challenges i'm entering are A Spoonfull of Sugar 'free style',Cinspirations #45 'Feminine', Lexis Creations #5 Valentines, Incy Wincy #27 'buttons, bows, ribbon, lace' and Cute daisy May 'Vintage'. Have a fun and restful weekend all!

The fab sketch is from ROP, Basic Grey brads and swirly gems from Heidi at SSS, papers from old QVC HOTP pad 'Vintage' and the colours are so plummy for The Secret Crafter #67, it's a photo inspiration, hope I've done it right, Penny Black # 85 is 'Something sweet' (apples) and used the sentiment and butterflies from the PB 'Hugs' sheet, Quixotic paperie #11 is 'Flutterby', Kaboodle Doodle is 'colour challenge: pink, lemon, green and plum', YNS #8 'Anything that sparkles' and Cute Card Thursday #97 s 'Blooming Gorgeous Flowers'. Hello to week 3 of designing for Polka Doodle and it's a Sketch week with the colours 'Red and Orange', fabby. So this was a challenge in itself, couldn't find any suitable patterned papers to use so went with embossing, and using a couple of my American crafts stamps too! On this easel card I've used the lovley digi image from the Stampies section of the Back To Nature CD. Sentiment and dotty flower is from there aswell. Girly image is coloured with my Koh-I-Noor pencils, she's dropped a few flowers out of her basket...love her on this card, these type of card are so easy to make. Nikky the owner of PD is so generous, I have enjoyed sampling the CD very much and sadly next week will be my last one. So this is my entry to a few new challenges namely Charisma Card #3 'Fruity Colours and Trimmies Craft # 34 'Red'. Hope you can find the time to join in and have some fun, have a good weekend all!

Stamp Something challenge. This week it is a colour combo 'Blue and White and I've used the fab Sarah Kay image I won from Saturday Spotlight candy before christmas, the lovely Vikki sent me some giant felt snowflakes and lots of other goodies too! So this is for their challenge 14 ' Snowflakes gone Wild', sketch used is Quixotic Paperie #9, 'Bells' used for ABC Christmas challenge with added extra of glitter on santas fur. Kept this beautiful image mainly black and white as it stamped so well, i didn't want to ruin it with my colouring and to be in line with the challenges entered. Found the snowflake paper from a freebie download called milly designs from a Crafts Beautiful online party, sentiment from Cute Companions. Bye for now!

Monday 18 January 2010

Penny Black challenge 84. I didn't want to miss their challenge this week 'Blue, Cream and Gold' so I've tried to get in early, the same with Fab N Funky #6, I missed them aswell so i thought I would use their sketch. The card is pretty much similar to my last card colour wise. I've drawn ideas from Kath's blog, just love her cards, so talented! Paper pieced the daisy, coloured in with Koh-I-Noor pencils and blended with odourless mineral spirit, so I'm entering in the Incy Wincy challenge 'Colour me wonderful' meaning 'favourit colouring medium'. Just a quick post today and a mention about a fabulous talented artist Dustin Pike who is designing for High Hopes Stamps and even though I discovered him recently, I'm really loving his cartoony style images...so there are sneak peeks this week and the release is on Wednesday... so head on over to find out what I'm talking about... he even has his own challenge blog Doodle Dragon Studio, great for all challenge lovers!

Friday 15 January 2010

Hello everyone, today is my second week of guest designing for Polka Doodle. I'm loving making creations from Nikky's Back To Nature CD, this week the theme is 'Love'. My inspiration for this creation is drawn from my mantelpiece and I'm quite pleased with it as I love Peacock feathers (I have some real ones and no peacocks were harmed). Nikky has a section on the CD called 'Shake a Tailfeather' and 'House Housey' and these are the papers used. I'll be sure to use these for wedding cards as i was already looking for something similar. So onto the card which is a 'Frame Card' and very dimensional, details of how to make it are here, the fab and super talented Claudia Rosa gives some clear instructions, and it is soooo easy to make, i'll be making some more to hand give. My black card is 13.5 cm square and the square cutout from the printed paper I've placed back in the frame, if you're still with me, so no wastage. Hope you like this type of card, however i would struggle to send this in the post and maybe is better to be hand given. I'm entering this creation in the CInspirations #43 'New Year, New Products'. Have a brilliant Friday all!

...Inside to cover the back of the frame.

Wednesday 13 January 2010

Hi there, hope all is well! Today I have a fab new digi image from Dustin Pike who had a blog hop and if you participated you could email for an image, well that's what i did and firstly it goes for his very own first challenge blog Doodle Dragon Studio #1 Love/Valentines, used the sketch from Sketch and Stash #26 and teamed up with Saturday Spotlight #13 'Love without Hearts'...perfect...Crafty Catz is 'Bright and Sparkly, YNS #7 is 'Embossing' as is Digital Tuesday #41,Crafty Creations #50 is 'Textures' ( sequins, heat embossing and red micro fine glitter) and Simon Says challenge is 'Shabby Chic', my papers are that from Summertime Designs and Martines free downloads. I've heat embossed with powder the sentiment from American Crafts and had a slight dilemma with the 'E' on the 'because', it didn't come with the second 'E' so i had to improvise and use the 'E' that was in the word, hope you're still with me, good job that 'because' has 2 E's. A mention that Brenda has a mega candy to give away starting 1st February. You've got to be in it to win it as they say! Bye for now.

Sunday 10 January 2010

My image for today is from a new blog. This is the 'Love Collage' from Designed 2 Delight Digital Stamps and Faith is giving it away as a freebie. It's so clear to print and I love it...so there's several challenges it will be entered into, Digital Tuesday #40 'Valentines', CInspirations #42 'Anniversary card', Cooking it up with Katie recipe challenge,' not your usual valentine image, try a technique not done before and add a colour challenge', I tried heat embossing the heart and leaves with Versamark embossing pen, used some Personal Impressions powder in Verdigris to achieve that, Crafty Creations #49 is 'Black, White and a splash of colour', KL Stampin n Scrappin # 12 is 'Pink, Black and Neutral' and i've used the fab sketch from Stamp Something 'sketch something'. I've attached a tag sentiment which came free with a Craft Stamper mag and some flat heart pearls from Nikki at Bunny Zoes Crafts, excellent service! Hope everyone is well and in the warmth, the snow has stopped here and we are in for a thaw :)))) A mention for some yummy candy from Jodi at Inked Inspirations, there is some Valentine Blog Candy about, don't forget to enter!

Guest Designing for Polka Doodle

Hello, I'm so excited to be showing my first Guest DT creations for Polka Doodle. I was asked by the lovely and fabulously talented Nikky, owner of Polka Doodle and it was an immediate 'Yes'. The CD's Nikky produces are sooo fab and easy to use, I really couldn't believe how much there was on the Back To Nature CD. The format is at 600 dpi which is very good! I could see instantly i was working with a super product, all print perfectly onto 120 gsm Tesco's Finest Premium Quality Printer Paper, Absolutely Fab! The theme this week is 'Song Title', I did 2, the first as it's the beginning of the year I went with 'Auld Lang Syne' (I think that's how it's spelt), love using acetate (old cracker box) in this way...just love this cute mousey 'dustin' and I've given him a friend to see in the New Year!

The second one is 'The Owl & the Pussy Cat' old childrens rhyme, did a step card with steps in the middle. Loved making this this one too, did my own measuring and cutting out twice, one for base and then another for printout page. Once they were put together i only had to cut out and stick big owl, kitty on the flower which is suppose to resemble 'pea-green boat' and all the other bits.

I'd like to thank Nikky, i feel so honoured to have been asked and really is the nicest lady to work with and so down to earth, the DT on PD do some amazing creations and they too in their own right are fantastic too. Nikky is doing ashow on Create & Craft this Sunday 10th January at 11am, don't forget to watch. I thought the New Year card could qualify for Papertake Weekly challenge, I've used some new 'dotty' ribbon and also for Cute Card Thursday 'New'. Have a good weekend all!

Thursday 7 January 2010

Today I have a card for many challenges. Used the sketch from Allsorts # 33 and you could use old or new, I went with my old papers, A Spoonfull of Sugar #85 is asking for 'Hearts' so I used some heart stamps from Crafters Companions to spruce up this paper, 'Distressed' the papers for Creative Card Crew #42, Funky Fairy challenge 'Make anyhting for any occassion', Simon Says challenge is 'Hot Chocolate' as is Quixotic #8 so my 'Cat with Cuppa' from Pink Gem Designs fits nicely, 3D'd its paws, and lastly ABC challenge 'L for Layering'. Tree stamp is from Toodles & Binks, lace and sequins from stash. May have time to get another card on here but if not please come back tomorrow to see my very first Guest DT creations for Polka Doodles. Hope everyone in is getting a lot of crafting done indoors with all the snow outside, here in the UK it's probably best to stay inside, love the sight of all this snow, it was thirty years ago when I saw this much, today it's very, very treacherous out there, so do take care, until my next post!

Tuesday 5 January 2010

Saturday 2 January 2010

Happy New Year everyone! Hope all is well and a good time was had during the wonderful festivities. My card for today is a Tall card as requested by High Hopes # 56 and 'yes' I've used my win of 'Ashley and Jan's Pillow Fun'. Wow, what a large stamp this is that to fit in my handcut scallop I had to leave off their cute slippers :( anyway, used dotty limey paper from QVC kit (old), must get round to using up old stash before I buy any more, so it qualifies for Colour Create # 35 'Lemon and Lime option of spring/summer flowers' so I placed a yellow gem too, ABC Christmas #, their very first one 'A for Angels and charms/beads' so I dangled a heart charm from the fibres, followed the sketch from Kaboodle Doodle #21, Stamp Something is 'New Something' (my new win), and last but not at all least, Crafty Calendar #4 'Keeping Warm with some added texture' , well the girls are in their warm jim jams and fibres. Sentiment from computer and glamour dust added to the wings. Pic is not good, dull day and snow flurries, but the view of a white blanket is magical!

There is some gorgeous yummylicious stamp candy over at Pink Gems Designs, yes there's plenty of candy about after all those mince pies, so don't forget to enter in Janet's candy and I hope that this year is going to bring even more success to all those budding crafting companies!
