This creation is going for the Papertake Weekly challenge which is a sketch by Dawny and A spoonful of Sugar challenge 23 which is 'sparkle and bling'.
The paper is from Kaboodle picnic range, the silver ribbon/braid is from Josy Rose haberdashery boutique which I received in the last post down, heart button from old Create & Craft kit, the shiny holographic plasic is from Josy Rose too, Forever Friends stamp gently watercoloured and balloon decoupaged, used glitter pen on balloon. the sentiment is from See D's stamp range, 3 silver sequins and small gems to finish!

A close up, thanks for looking. Come back soon!

Take a look at this creation...

Have you ever seen spotted pumpkins? Well here's one with a difference and it's for 3 challenges.

This a shot of it free standing. I got the idea off Papercraft Inspirations Magazine November issue. So much in that mag for its money. Lovely jubbly!
Right then, the paper is from Kaboodles freepapers on their blog and they would like you to make something on the halloween theme,ABC challenge would like you to make something showing an oval on it so my pumpkin has become an oval (but don't they look like bubbly cheeks) ,Cupcake Craft challenge theme is 'there's a hole in my bucket' meaning anything on your creation with a hole - so mine is the mouth! I think everything is self explanatory, googly eyes from my kids box, orange triangle lifted with foam pads, a bit of raffia round the top of stem, green material stuck on to card and cut out for stem, everything edged with black ink. Hope you like :) Sorry I don't have any Halloween stamps .

New challenge blog - Magnolia and Stampavie have merged as one! Great idea as I did find it difficult to get indiviual creations done on time for both challenges. Now I think for me it will be easier. I do like both the blogs and even though I've not been crafting long I have learned alot since the last 5 months even though it was just recent that I took to participating in challenges any way.

So there is candy about, in I think, 7 places. All the candy is different and you can only enter once, so choose which candy you prefer to win and do the rest that is asked of you. Longwinded ..., I hope I've done it all correctly. Good luck to everyone and the important people who help to run the new one.
Gayle has some candy to share some love. Read her blog and become a follower, I am! Lovely ,yummy, sweet candy for the offering. While you're there don't forget to take a look at those wonderful creations. Super!

This is what Mr Postie pushed through the letterbox today. Crafts Beautiful had an article from JosyRose in its November issue giving away a gem pack. They are a haberdashery company and anyone who knows me I do love browsing around haberdashery shops, maybe it runs through the family... I'm not sure, but my childhood days were around threads and hemming for my mother. For only P&P of £1.75 you get all this. Bargain I hear myself saying.

Some items I may just use for the sparkle and bling over at Spoonful Of Sugar challenge this week. I need to tweak the card I was going to put up today, it'll have to wait until tomorrow now. Have a nice evening :)
Cold, chilly, frosty this morning but the sun is out and very bright too. I am going to try and get a card on here today, maybe for one of the challenges. There's candy about again :) See below

Camilla has some candy! Stamps, 2 patterned paper cards and cardstock boards. She is a very talented lady and I'm always surprised when I visit her blog. The cards she makes are so beautiful that you just want tofeast your eyes on them taking every inspiration in that you can. Brilliant work!!!

Happy Monday!

Candy from Jeanette arrived today all the way from Canada. And these gorgeous images and Magnolia stamp with bits of yummies were inside the pockets of this gorgeous wallet. I must make one, I can hear myself saying...

and then I took a photo of them all.......................

.......turned the wallet over and found these lovelies in the back pocket. :) well, I had a smile on my face ear to ear. THANK YOU Jeanette, what a beautiful gift.

Jeanette made another of these wallets for her sons too.

Kaboodle challenge 8 'Rock'n'roll'

The backing paper is from Kaboodle Halloween pack, the grey skulls from Mad About Cards website (brilliant free downloads on there from Printable Heaven), the green shape is from Kaboodle as is the big skull. Now You might think there's no stamping here. Reason being I'm not really a fan of rock n roll and I don't own any stamps featuring this theme so I improvised by tracing off the latest front cover the Argos catalogue. The guitar has my white gelly roll pen on it to give some defintion. Handwritten text, do you think I've passed or cheated?
This was a hard challenge for me, i hope it gets in on time.
Happy Halloween

Well I've never made a halloween card, so this is a first with me! And I don't own any halloween stamps.

The orange paper is from Kaboodles from their Halloween range, the haunted house is a template from Papercraft Inspirations Magazine November issue, the ghosts I've made smaller from their template, bats my own drawings, mini envelope handmade, and last but not least if I didn't visit Claudia's blog I would not have discovered this wonderful little girl carrying the pumpkin. She is drawn by Inger Harding who designs her own motifs and isn't she just so cute, she is a freebie on her blog. She comes with those leaves. The 'Boo' is stamped with Melissa Frances clear stamps. The yellow strip is bright flourescent orange ribbon I received in a candy, stars are See D's stamps with silver glitter glue. White gelly roll Sakura pen used on the black card.

Now the measurements to this step card (I think they are called). 28.5cm x 20cm to roughly fit a 23cm x 16cm envelope. I do prefer to make something that will actually fit inside an envelope. Fussy???
You score at 7cm and then another 6.5cm, that gives just the one step. On some blogs I've seen cards made with another step added. I felt comfortable doing it this way (it's my first).

This creation fits three challenges,Papertake Weekly 'Halloween - frightful but delightful', Spoonful of Sugar 22 'Halloween', Cute Card Thursday 'stars at night'. Hope you like. Thanks for visiitng and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

a close up.

Friday Sketchers and ABC 'n is nature'

I hope I'm not too late with this one.... but here it goes...the backing paper has been done on the computer, the centre circles are from a mixture of Shabby Princess free downloads and free papercraft Inpsiration downloads (I think).Tingla is sitting on some green scrap of old ribbon I found in my stash box, she's been paper pieced and gold glitter glue added to her wings and buttons. The wonderful flowers are the ones Elin sent me in her candy. Thankyou! The little mini envelope I've made myself and sentiment too. Hope you like. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have been inspired.
Pop on over to Nikki's blog. WOW she is celebrating reaching 30,000.hits with some PINK candy. As most people know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and us ladies can always do our bit by spreading the word. So there is Magnolia up for grabs and if you can make a pink card then Nikki will put it up on her slide too! I'll take a breather now and say that only last week I made 2 cards named Pink card 1 and Pink card 2.They weren't for any particular challenge that was raising awareness BUT now I will point Nikki in the right direction to where they are. So there we are, I think that is it for now, until later.

Thanks for visiting.

The papers used on this card are free downloads from Shabby Princess Harvest range . The turquoise ones are from free magazine downloads from ages ago not sure which one though. The image I have to say is a freebie from Kerry Steptoe, a fantastic doodler and she does fantastic drawings. I don't have any good male stamps so I'd come across her blog sometime ago and found them. Thankyou !
Brads are from an old QVC kit and the sentiment stamp is a foam stamp from one of QVC's kits. I think that is the yummy details everyone needs to know. Have a happy Monday and thanks for visiting!

Nearly forgot this...

Friday Sketchers challenge 23 and Sarah Kay 'Doodles' challenge 15. All the papers and embellishments are from HOTP Vintage kit. I really love these, everything co-ordinated. Th sweet lili image has been doodled around the edges and also some of the papers.
Pink card No.2

Magnolia Challenge 40 'tabbed sketch'
I've never done a tab on a card, so here's my take on it.The pale green paper is from Shabby Princess free downloads and the pink is from Kaboodles Pink and Blue range. The left overs from last card. Everything is fairly self explanatory except I'm finding ways to use these stamps in other ways. While blog-hopping I read up on paper-piecing which is what I've done to Tingla's little baby gro. Really easy when you know how. Lovely Jubbly! Her soother has been left plain just for a slight difference this time. It might look odd to see it without colour but you can get white soothers can't you? Sentiment is from computer on Curlz font mounted on to silver mirri, tab butterfly from old QVC foam stamp, small daisy punch for chain of flowers and crystal dust on wings and a few sequins to finish. Thanks for visiting.

Below is the card I made yesterday but this time the silver mirri is showing quite clearly. Hope you like.

Pink card No .1
This creation is for Papertake Weekly challenge Katherinas sketch 13 and Cupcake Craft challenge 9 'turn up the heat', meaning use anything which is heating up like with an embossing tool. I've used purple paper from Funky Fairy Inspirations blog free downloads on to some pink base card, then layered with a Kaboodle paper from their Pink and Blue range. Love the gorgeous subtle print on this. All the ovals and circles done by hand, that is actually silver mirri board showing as black (I don't know why), the brand new Forever Friends stamp is heat embossed for the Cupcake challenge, softly coloured in and used pink glittery gel pen for balloon, punches used for the flowers and mini brads, sentiment from computer on Curlz font to finish. Hope you like. I'm not entirely happy because I've used mirri card which is not showing up. I'll have to photo it tomorrow in good sunlight as in real life it is so much better. Here's hoping for a sun brighty day.

Kaboodle challenge 7 'tags'
This tag is made out of some left overs from the other week. It's the free paper download from kaboodle and matches perfectly with the card I made.

Everything looks self-explanatory. The heart is hand cut out from one of my daughter's jeans tags as a template, edged with some pink ink. The bride and groom after close inspection is from Amuse Artstamps.( I didn't realise I had one in my possession, there you go - I need a tidy up. The image is chalked after using clear inkpad. The sentiment stamp is from Funstamps and it's the first time I have ever masked the image and done it that way, used small heart punch with some pearlised silver paper and dark pink ribbon to finish. Thanks for looking at my little effort. Have a nice evening.
Back in June when I first started my blog, I really didn't know what it was all about. Slowly I was dipping my feet in to the big river of blogging and you know what I got sucked in a big current and never really came out of it. So now I'm swimming like a fish not knowing which direction to turn. Should I go back home and have no connection with all these wonderful people in the blogging world or carry on and see if there is some thing I can contribute to in cyber space.(if that's what it is). I think anyone reading would probably think carry on. The reason I'm wriitng this today was, one of the first blogs I did browse and subsequently won a candy was Elin, She is a very talented lady in Norway who has a lot of hobbies and one of them making trolls. I've just been over there and I was so surprised at what she has made with a large nutshell. Amazing creations Elin. You are so talented!!!

So I think I shall carry on as I am. The blogging world is an eye-opener to how much talent in different forms is really waiting to be discovered. :) Thanks for visiting. Please do leave a comment so I know you've been. Happy Crafting!

Sarah Kay challenge 14 'lets sketch again'

Well, with myself feeling a little under the weather, (where have you heard that before), I was still itching to go for this challenge, well really my fingers were. It was a nice easy one but I just hadn't got the energy. Somehow I feel a little lively as my daughter has returned from her outings with guess what, a Forever Friends stamp. I can't buy any more stuff, I keep telling her, I've got to get all the stuff out and get it used. I've accumulated over the years so much as I bought only to look at and stroke. Things are slowly changing and my friend saw one of my Sarah Kay creations only to ask me what I wanted for it.

Does anyone know if I can/allowed to sell?

Well, any way onto the serious bit about the card. Not much to say except the papers are from Summer Driggs website summertime designs free downloads, the stamped image, I've only used part of it with clear embossing ink and chalked her with co-ordinating chalks, used a plastic stencil to cut around the wavy edge,Gunhilds Grunge scrolls stamp is used on the inside of card but only partly chalked aswell, some silver glitter glue on image, a single flat back pearl and posh ribbon to finish . Hope you like. Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting.
Natalie has al ovely red storage bag with some lovely stash to giveaway to a lucky person. The celebrations are taking place and she's celebrating a blogoversary. (I hope to have one someday :) ) How about that!!!

One card, three challenges take two

Friday Sketchers is wanting you to follow a simple sketch this week. I've enjoyed using odds and ends from a previous card for this challenge. Then there is Papertake Weekly where you can either have a 1st wedding anniversary, birthday, christmas etc OR 'no stamps'. It is also PTW's 1st birthday. Lastly there is Cute Card Thursday challenge 31 'buttons and bows'.
The papers are from Papercraft Inspirations website free downloads. I really like going there when I feel stuck.
The 1st stamp is a Melissa Frances clear stamp, the sentiment is a foam stamp from a kit from QVC, the cake stamp is an old Whispers stamp. The buttons ,ribbon and thread from own stash. Hope you like. Thanks for looking.

Nikki over at bunny-zoes is giving away some High Hopes stamps as part of the blog hop. Fantastic images and I nearly forgot it's her birthday, so go on over and wish her a happy birthday!

One card, three challenges

As many of us are suffering from colds and flu, I managed to find some energy to create this card. I didn't think I'd get anything done but here it is.

ABC Challenge'lace', Kaboodle 6 'Sketch' and A Spoonful of Sugar 20 'green and pink'.

The base card is from own stash. Pink check backing is from Kaboodle own range Picnic range (extra entry if you use their kit), their pink lace from own stash from ages ago just sitting around, 3 strips from last card I did,the green where Tingla is sitting on is Kaboodle Spots sheet as is the corners. I've overstamped with Anna Griffin clear stamps which I found the other day and thought about making use of them. I've spent no end of money on kits from QVC but ofcourse they were worth it! The branch Tingla is sat on I did myself and watercoloured her and used silver glitter glue on her wings. The sentiment is a stamp from See D's range and a paper die-cut flower which I have overstamped with one of Anna Griffin stamps and put a white mini brad through it.. Zig-zag accenting with fine liner pen and also around card. Thanks for visiting. :)

Cute Card Thursday 30 'Christmas animals' & ABC Challenge 'K is for katherina'

CCT would like you to use images of christmas themed animals and ABC have a sketch to follow this week and I've rotated it keeping in mind the text lines. So... the base red card is of a leather effect (surplus froma bargain box of mixtures), the papers are from Papercraft Inspirations free from their website Jingle bell rocks, on the front right I've just used scallop scissors ,silver pearlescent paper, white ribbon, snowflakes punched out and glittered up with crystal dust, the image I'm sorry was part of a candy and don't know which make it is, and sentiment is from my computer on the Lydian font. Lastly silver glitter glue is used to accent image which has been watercoloured and on the papers too. Hope you like :) Thanks for visiting.
Jay jay is offering 2 lots of candies from Stampavie. Great stuff. Go and check it out, there's so much to see.

Saturday, 4 October 2008

Heather is having a 5 day giveaway. Lovely to read her blog. Be quick. It ends soon!!!
Papertake Weekly Challenge Katherinas sketch 12

I thought I would finish off the papers I used for my last card. So...here is the creation for this challenge. The paper is from Kaboodle blog that they are giving to make something for their challenge this week, the round is dark pink handmade paper , the stamp image is one I paid quite alot for some years back but not really had any use out of it, slightly watercoloured the image, the sentiment is a stamp I've had for ages but I just needed more practice with it to do it without getting it all smudged around the edges. I've used my new Grunge scroll stamp from Gunhild underneath the pink ribbon, accented it with a flat back pink gem even though the scanner has turned it silver! I think that's it... oh the edging ink matches the ribbon even though it's not showing up clear.

Thanks for looking. Have a lovely saturday. :)

Magnolia 38 'use a sketch' & Kaboodle ch.5 'use the papers'

Thanks for looking, here we go!!! For the Magnolia challenge I have rotated the sketch and for the Kaboodle challenge papers I've gone with the paler version out of the two. I just love the swirls on these designs and was a privilige to work with this design especially as they were for free.

The base card is white and layered with pink from own stash. I would have prefered to do some real stitching on this card but I will have to make my mind up about the sewing machine this weekend. Anyway I made do with faux stitching, handcut the ovals using plastic stencil as a guide, I'm hoping to get these nestabilites so I can get the use from my Cuttlebug. For the meantime my crafty hand will do. Sitting Tingla can hardly be spotted on this one ( should rename this card 'find the missing Tingla'). I have watercoloured her very pale on this one and also put silver glitter glue on various parts. Some paper flowers with sequins in the centre, pink and black ribbon with a little charm to bring some bling and dangle to the card. Thanks for visiting, hope you like :)

Sarah Kay Challenge week 13 'true blue' & A spoon full of sugar Challenge 19 sketch by Camilla

Two posts in one day, maybe i can do a third.... this is my very first entry to the spoon full of sugar challenge.

This card is to fit inside 14cm x 14cm envelope, so these two challenges fitted on this card perfectly I thought.
The base card is from own stash and is not quite navy in colour but a darker shade of blue, all the papers are from HOTP Friendship pad, image sweet lili watercoloured, I could have done better, the sentiment is a stamp that is from old QVC kit, same with the grosgrain ribbon, jewels free with a magazine, i think Papercraft Inspirations, accented with white gelly roll Sakura pen and thin black waterproof liner pen. i think that is it. Thanks for taking the time to read!!!

I'm off to a wedding this weekend. This is the card to the couple who will be wedded.

The card is not shiny at all, but my best heavy one for special occassions.

the inside.... i don't know how to finish off the acetate, it looks quite ugly :( on the left...???

the card and it's envelope. Thanks for looking :)
