High Hopes challenge. I have some good news to share, but I'll make you wait till the end of the post...High Hopes # is a sketch by Jeanette, used their own stamp 'Shebaa the sheep', fabby Winter Wonderland papers from Martine, snowflakes stamped from the Sweet n Sassy stamps by Chris Dickinson, Glamour Dust added with red gems on punch out snowflakes, buttons from stash. So as usual I like to combine...Kaboodle Doodles #19 'Snowflakes' and Allsorts #29 is 'Buttons'.
Now for a bit of a surprise... well it was for me, the wonderful ladies over at the new challenge blog Lexis Creations have asked me to guest design for them :)))))) never done this before, still in shock, and i immediately thought REALLY???? are my creations getting better, because I am my own critic you know, well ofcourse I said 'yes', my badge is on the side bar and am so looking forward to being on the team as a guest, so thankyou ladies for having me, now let's hope I don't make any mistakes. Thanks once again ladies!!!

Cute Daisy May. This week is 'Red Christmas', Digital Doodling is a recipe challenge: 'use Mrs Tilly Claus freebie image, glitter and a sketch', so I've gone with Sketch and Stash #24. Fab one and I've used some brand new red ribbon, neglected red sequins and new gemstones sent by Kath. Paper is from Martine's free download, used a red copic pen to make my card look as if it's layered, couldn't find the right shade of red card! Sentiment on the bottom says 'My friend', old stamp from Tesco, finished off with plenty of glam dust. Hope you like!

Polka Doodle challenge is a sketch. This week PD #27 is to have some brown in your creation and I've teamed up with Pollycraft challenge 'Christmas' using one of their fab freebie images, pretty christmas paper from Martine 'Winter Wonderland', A Spoonfull of Sugar # 79 is to use 'Brown base with either pink/blue' I've gone with the latter, and ABC challenge 'I for Indigo Blue' (dress & scarf). There's a bit of Tim Holtz Distressing with Walnut stain inkpad. By the way the brown is from the banana box from the grocers, love using this as my printer does not print a proper brown, don't know why???? She's a lovely lady she keeps saving them for me know that she knows what I use it for!
Thankyou so much Simon Says Stamps!!! Heidi the lovely owner of SSS has sent me some Eskimo Kisses blog candy I won in a Scavenger Hunt they had on their blog...I take part in their challenges regularly too, there's so much in there, will be using lots on my cards to come. So Heidi, what a wonderful lady you are to give away so much, sponsoring so many challenges out there in blogland, many thanks once again and don't forget crafters, go over to the blog, there's always candy about!

My very first easel card. I've enjoyed making this so much that by the time I finished yesterday and wanted to upload it at 1pm lunchtime it was already getting dark :(...so i decided it was meant to be today and I'm quite pleased with it. So, the super fab image is ofcourse PB for their challenge which is 'Winter Wonderland' sent by the lovely Kath, i didn't realise how big this cutey snowman was and the sketch i've used from Sketch Saturday got a little squashed but it doesn't look empty :), gorgeous Winter Wonderland papers from Martine's blog, thanks for this freebie, just what I was looking for and print beautifully!!!! green is from stash,so is the lace border, vellum snowflakes covered in Glamour Dust and popped onto 3D foam for more dimension, oh yes sentiment from Sweet N Sassy. This is my entry for Colour Create challenge 32 'Green, Red and White' and last but not least Allsorts 'Christmas carol/ Song title' mine is 'Frosty the Snowman'. Penny Black challenge is giving away so many prizes this week including small but they're not small candies on the DT's blogs, so do join in you know what they say 'You've got to be in it, to win it!'

Papertake Weekly # 28. This week is a sketch and I've tied it up with Simon Says challenge 'Animal Antics' and also CCT #87 'Teen Terrors'. Image is from Toodles & Binks, back paper from Kaboodle Doodle downloads 'Morris Dance 3 ', stripe is from a scrap leftover from Summer Driggs downloads, corners and text stamp from American Crafts. No glitter on this one at all, the recipient is an avid camper/hiker!!! So i know it's too simple but I've followed the sketch and I'll probably heat emboss his name nearer the time. Hope to be back again soon with my Penny Black creation...

Bee Crafty challenge 17. This time it was a 'Photo Inspiration' theme and I don't think I've ever done one of these before... but here it goes and used the sketch over at Dare U to Digi Scrap # 25, my entry for Cute Daisy May 'Touchy Texture', and also for Basic Grey challenge #8 'Glitz & Bling' ofcourse I've used BG Sultry off-cuts on this card together with this wonderful digi image from Digital Doodling 'Christmas Belle', isn't she pretty, wonderful image! Coloured with Koh-i-noor pencils and blended, lots of Glamour Dust added on her lovely long coat, Heather Flowersoft on her muff to keep her hands cosy...sentiment from American crafts, really glad I bought these set of clear stamps from QVC, real value for money and this one will come in handy to say how much they're appreciated especially at this time of year :)

A Spoonfull of Sugar # 78. This time is to make something for 'baby's 1st christmas / pre-schooler, so i went with the latter... this very cute image is from Popcorn Bear by Crafters Companion free as they were celebrating their birthday last month and with every order they gave away this stamp... I just think he/she is adorable and it's my first time i used him/her and is so adaptable for new arrival, christening, birthday etc. it reminds me of my children carrying their little flannels as blankies... that was just such a fab time, now they're all grown up. Sketch used is from Crafty Catz # 8, teamed up with Cooking it up with Katie challenge recipe: 'use flower, something clear (I've used acetate under my flowers), and to choose a sketch', Allsorts #27 'For a Child', Kaboodle Doodle #18 'Buttons, Bows and Bling' and I've used the gingham download from there too, last but not least new challenge their very first is Lexi's Creations 'Blue and Silver'. I think that is it... for now, until next time.

Polka Doodles and Penny Black challenges. This week at PD #26 is a sketch with 'Male theme' so I've used some argyle paper from Kaboodle Doodles 'All Star' kit, some lovely male type ribbon/braid I bought from the haberdashers acouple of weeks ago, buttons from stash, used the fabby snowman image the wonderfully talented Kath sent me (one of many), i think it must be PB as Kath is a big big fan of Penny Black stamps, coloured scarf using a copic pen and sentiment stamp from Crafters Companion 'Boys' set... so there we are simple, but hope you like!

Penny Black #74. This weeks theme is 'Song Title/Lyrics'... and I've used sketch from Sketch Saturday#76...entry for Simon Says challenge 'Thinking of You' and Cute Card Thursday 'Glitter me Silly'. So, for PB I didn't have a suitable image so I created my own with old QVC clear stamp post box which is part of a fab set, Hedgie from 'Hugs' PB clear stamp sheet. He normally holds a bunch of flowers but i masked them off and before placing the post box in the background I masked off the hedgie too...gave him a letter to post but not sure how he's going to reach the top (unless he asks the cute birdies nicely)...so my song is 'Mr. Postman by The Beatles', blue paper is from Do-Crafts download, sentiment is from same PB clearstamps placed in a journalling frame from Melissa Frances clear stamps. Finished off with plenty of Glamour Dust (hard to see on my dreadful pic), gems from the wonderful Kath's package which arrived yesterday! Hope you like, until next post, a good weekend to all and happy crafting.

Thursday, 12 November 2009

Hi all again! This is what arrived earlier from the fabulously super talented Kath...my first christmas card and some goodies to play with that I won on Kath's blog. I'm sure to use the fabby embellishments and the gi-enormous snowflakes on my upcoming creations, today I'd already started my Penny Black card but it got really dark quickly today so will post tomorrow am. Really love the card Kath sent, such a professional job on it, so thanks so much Kath for giving away crafty stuff especially when you've had commitments here, there and everywhere :)))))))
Pollycraft challenge #28. This week it's 'No cards allowed' so I've used the freebie digi images Joyful Tidings and Background trees from their blog, combined with another similar challenge Polka doodle 'Make a christmas decoration'. Now I know it's not for the christmas tree but hope it will qualify... lots of glamor dust on this door handle holder which I thought would be ideal to direct Santa where to leave the pressies...also this is my entry for A Spoonfull of Sugar# 77 'Create a scene', Digital Tuesday# 32 'Holiday Wishes',Papertake Weekly 'Digi & Sparkle', Allsorts challenge'Bring on the bling', and last but not least ABC 'H for hidden'. So my hidden element is behind the snowflake brad below and says 'This Way Santa'. Sorry for the bad pic, just not good at taking photo's but I hope you get the idea...back in a bit.

Tuesday, 10 November 2009

Just a quick post. This is my entry for Cute Card Thursday #85 'Primary Colours - red, blue and yellow'. So I've gone a little dottie too for Crafty Catz Weekly #7 which is 'Going Dottie'. My image is now one of my faves from Pink Gem Designs 'Jack with ball'. I really enjoy colouring him in and today he has a bit of a tan, footballs are a stamp from See D's range, yellow from Funky fairy downloads, blue is a scrap from Do-crafts download, red is from stash. Not sure which sentiment is needed on this one as it may well be a get well card??? or even just a 'hello'. It'll be nice to personalise it when I decide which little boy it's going to... bye till next time.

Monday, 9 November 2009

Simon Says challenge. This week the theme is ' Give Thanks', over at Kaboodle Doodles #17 it's 'Fall Splendour' as is Funky Fairies #41 and I've used the teal/blue from Kaboodle download 'Morris Dance', the pink from FF ' The Love Train', sketch used is from A Spoonfull of Sugar #76 and as this card is to do with the weather meaning Autumnal I shall enter it for the lovely new monthly Crafty Calendar challenge 2 'weather'. So there we have it, i won't bore you too much with details except the super fab scarecrow is a digi from Dustin Pike freebie (16th September), outlined with a black waterproof pen, then w/coloured with Koi's and various stamps all from American Crafts! Bye for now.

One card for one challenge. This is very rare of me just to stick to a single challenge but it's here and I can't really find anything which it would fit that I haven't already entered, so it makes it 'special' for Pollycraft. This time it's a sketch, image is Pollycrafts own freebie and also included is the fab green 'Lace Meadows' freebie, subtle pink swirly paper from Pink Petticoat 'Sweet Sundaes' kit, sentiment stamp from Popcorn Bear range, large heat embossed snowflake in Hologram sparkle and single punched flake 3D'd. Hope all is well in blogland, we've had some lovely sun today but it seems to be turning chilly again, until my next post, Happy Crafting!

Thursday, 5 November 2009

Hi all again! My second post just to show off this cute snowlady image from Cute Daisy May. Their challenge is 'Blue Christmas' and used one of their free digi images outlined with black pen, sketch used is from Papertake Weekly #27, I hope it's alright to use a single snowflake as it looked kind of empty there, Cooking it up with Katie #4 is another fab recipe 'start with a christmas theme, add some sparkle and finish with border' and last challenge new to me is Colour Create Challenge #31 which fits in nicely 'Blue, Silver and White' optional being winter and glitter :)))) it fits! So the blue card is from stash but before I embossed it I stamped some silver snowflakes which aren't showing up well at all on the pic so I hope the Glamour Dust counts for silver, the print paper is download from Crafts Beautiful online party some time ago and sentiment is from Sweet N Sassy Stamps 'Snowflake' set. Tonight is Guy Fawkes night, usually we go to an organised firework display instead of frightening animals and people in our neighbourhood. My children are teenagers now, they have other interests which include sometimes 'not being seen with mum and dad', does anyone know what I'm talking about!!!! So I don't know what's happening but I do hope everyone has a safe time. Until my next posting, bye.
Polka Doodles challenge. This week it is 'a male card, include 3 brads' and I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday #75. Image is from Pink Gem Designs ' Jack with ball' w/coloured with Koi's, so love to colour this particular image and no I'm afraid I don't know anything about footie colours, football stamp is from See D's range, white brads from old QVC kit, check paper from Summer Driggs downloads, white gel pen for highlights, hope you like, back in a bit.

Wednesday, 4 November 2009

Hi all! Well this is what I came up with whilst playing yesterday and this wasn't really what I was aiming for... as I was thinking of ways to use the sliver of card left over when you've cut a 14cm square card from A4 sheet of card...hope you're still with me...the bottom of this card is what I'm talking about and I have so many lying around, all good weight stock. So then I got distracted by my Fiskars Sunburst border punch and out of a 9cm square this is what I created but oooops! there was an accident at the bottom of it, there was a solution to hinge it to my card, and a perfect fit it was. Originally i was thinking to place it in a diamond shape but due to the little incident this is the way it was meant to be...this piece was a little lighter in weight as I didn't want it to fall over, it's still standing overnight, so I'm a little bit pleased with it and can you guess which challenge this is for? I hope Kath likes it at Penny Black #73 'White on White'. Happy crafting all till next time!

Tuesday, 3 November 2009

New challenge, Digital Doodling. I've found another digi challenge but knowing me I still have to add some stamping touches to my cards. So image is a freebie digi 'Fairy Cake Tilly' from there too, fab isn't she, went over with fine w/proof liner pen, w/coloured with Koi's and 3D'd her with one underneath, papers from The Creative Cottage 'Fairy Wishes', sentiments and candle from stamp set from SSS, made some flowers using X Cut punch, brown paper is free from the grocers and the base card is absolutely free too so I've done my bit for the environment today...placed waste bits from Doily Lace punch on the cupcake to resemble choc chips...gems and glamour dust for sparkle. So the following challenges also qualify for this card, sketch used from Crafty Catz #6, Digital Tuesday #31 'Flowers' and my second entry for Simon Says challenge 'All that sparkles'. Hope to post tomorrow as I've had a few days rest now and ready to go once again!
